What skills do I need to be successful in this career?

I am a senior in high school, I am thinking about going into nursing at Western Dakota Tech. I work as a CNA at the Good Samaritan and I just applied for PCT at the hospital in town. #nursing #nursing #healthcare #medicine

Sounds like you’re on the right track. Getting your foot in the door by becoming a CNA/ tech/ unit secretary is helpful when applying to schools. You’ll need to be proficient in multitasking, critical thinking, and staying calm under pressure. Hope this helps!

Tierra’s Answer

CNA experience is definitely a plus, because it builds time management skill. Nursing also requires critical thinking, prioritizing, delegation, and communication skills. Resilience is also important because even when we try to plan out our day, some things just happen unexpectedly.
