Hello Priscilla,
I love that you are looking towards the nursing field, having a specific thought on where you’d like to be is wonderful but I would not sell yourself short on where you’d like to be a nurse until nursing school. Most programs will place you in all different units in order to help you get a feel for which each and every unit looks like. I was determined when I went to nursing school and graduated 3 years ago that I would love to be an Emergency room nurse, at this time I work as a medical floor nurse and its my preference. Most nurses in the hospital setting will work 3 or 4 twelve hour shifts a week unless otherwise scheduled, or picking up shifts. This is so that it can be adequately staffed, appropriate hours, and avoid too much change throughout the day.
