G. Mark’s Answer

There are so many variables in this question, it's hard to make a generalization. However, I've found that (IMO) IT is primarily focused on the "business" aspects of computer science and computer engineering delves into the technology and theory of actually building or architecting computers. Since my background is primarily in the latter, and I chose it because I was fascinated with it, I'm a bit prejudiced. So I would go with computer engineering. YMMV.

Hi,

Both the courses have their merits. You will have learn the basic subject in both computer as well as It engineering but depending on your skillset you choose you may opt for being an IT engineer where there is scope of learning all the new soft-ware languages and becoming a software engineer or you may opt for being a computer engineer where you learn a bit of hardware too for being skilled in future for something like robotics or A.I.

If you are good in mathematics and basic statistics - choose computer engineering

However if you are good at programming and analysis -choose IT engineering
