Hello Lyric,
Nursing is a full-time job so hopefully nurses either inpatient or outpatient work 40 hours a week. Since inpatient is a 24-hour industry, some hospitals will allow nurses to work a variety of shift hours such as 3 12-hour shifts a week which would equal a 40-hour workweek. In my last several jobs, I was a salaried employee meaning I was paid a monthly salary no matter how many hours a week I worked with 40 being the minimum allowed. If I had to work overtime, and I did, I would still get the same salary. Some weeks I would work up to 70 hours. So you see the number of hours worked a week for nursing is quite varied. I hope this answer helps.
