It depends on what kind of nursing you do.
The ICU can be pretty tough, with long hours and night shifts.
A clinic can have a much more relaxed pace with no call and more of a 9-5 approach.

Depending on what area of nursing you work in, you may be working not just day shift. You may be working 3-11 or 11-7 shift. You might be working a baylor plan which is just weekends and those shifts are 12 hours and you would work 12 hour day or night shifts. Nursing in hospitals usually requires shift rotation.
