Is it true that people wanting to get into game design end up developing on something else?

I'm looking to get into game design to help develop games that I enjoy. I have heard from a college student that most students looking to develop certain skills for game development don't end up in the game industry. #video-games #video-game-design #gaming #game-design

I would always keep an open mind when it comes to what you want to work on versus what you actually work on. I came out of college as a modeler but ultimately I ended up in animation because there was an opportunity to do so.

Study what you like but keep an eye out to the possibility that something even better could come along. The people that stay super focused on just one thing sometimes have a hard time getting into the industry(unless you are a programmer).
