Are the work hours malleable for college?

I love working with animals and I’d like to become a veterinarian or a veterinarian technician. #veterinary-medicine #animal-health

Comparing a Vet pathway to a Vet-Tech pathway is like comparing apples to oranges...the two are totally different. To become a Vet Tech you can do a certificate program or Associates Degree program at a local junior college. 2 years and approximately $8,000-$11,000, test, and you're done.

Becoming a vet requires 4 years of college for a Bachelor's Degree (approx. $120,000) plus another 4 years of college in the DVM program (Approx. $120,000). Realistically you're looking at 8-10 years in college (depending on your level of dedication and how many classes you might have to retake); and approx $240,000 (without scholarships).

Once you're a vet tech, you will always be working for someone else, while Vets can open their own business, be their own boss, and set their own work schedule. Vet techs make around $18,000-$25,000 a year while Vets typically make $80,000-$150,000 a year.

With regard to the question of whether you can work during college, I would say that you can absolutely work. You just need to find a position that will allow you flexibility during the school week. I had a job during college and was able to complete all of the pre med requirements without issue.
