Brittani’s Answer

Based on my skills and interest. What I love the most about my career is that I believe I am doing what I was meant to do. If my checks stopped today I’d do it as a volunteer.

It’s so important to pursue a career that you are passionate about!

Richard’s Answer

Radiology is an exciting and dynamic field. For me personally, the procedures are the most exciting. For example, we recently introduced Y-90 radioembolization at our hospital. This provides a new opportunity to treat liver cancers and prolong lives.

Lesley’s Answer

I can definitely second Brittani's answer.

For me in particular, I grew up witnessing a lot of environmental devastation and unfair treatment of communities. Feeling frustrated that I was living with the consequences of other people's bad behavior, I vowed to resolve those problems when I grew up.

Today, I feel like I'm leveraging my unique skills, strengths and interests to drive better practices that protect ecosystems and people. Knowing that I'm a part of the solution keeps me going, and makes me proud of my work.

I noticed your hashtags of lawyer and healthcare--I hope you end up on whatever path that keeps you excited to get up in the morning for work!

Devin’s Answer

I think for me, it's about your interests and what you're passionate about. If you can incorporate your passions, interests, or both into your career, then it won't feel as much like a job. Personally, I enjoy being creative and also solving problems so I went into a career that offered me both - communications.

I also appreciate that the company I work for has a mission-driven culture. I did not realize it initially, but working for a company that helps others makes it much easier to get up and work each day. It can give you a great sense of purpose that you're working for something larger than yourself and if that's important to you, then look for career opportunities where that's possible!

I hope this helps and best of luck in finding a career you enjoy each day!
