The biggest thing you need to focus on is your work ethic. To be able to make into the medicine field you must be hardworking and determined. It's not easy to pass the medical exams throughout college, and that's coming from someone who started out in BioMedical Engineering.
My biggest advice would be to set a schedule every day for what needs to be accomplished, but also how you can go above and beyond.
The MCAT is notorious for being one of the hardest exams out there. Get a head start on studying for it by actively practicing the material for a short amount of time each day. This repetition will help the material become ingrained in your brain so when it's time for the test you're prepared to succeed.

Pick a major that interests you so you don't mind devoting a majority of your hours to studying. You will need to get good grades in college in order to apply for medical school. At the medical school I attended, the average GPA is reported to be 3.85, so even one or two B's can hurt your chances of acceptance.
