A typical medical school freshman class is small; range is 50-150 students. Medical schools associated with some of the largest public universities have 75-100 students in each class.
Unlike law or business schools, medical schools have some real constraints which limit the number of students they can enroll each year, such as the number of cadavers for 1st-year anatomy and the number of clinical rotations in hospitals and clinics for 3rd- and 4th-year students both of which are difficult to procure.
