As a physician, I work with all types of nurses all the time. The best nurses are those that know their patient well, communicate with their team, work hard, and have a good attitude. It sounds like you have the right mindset and will do great!

If you are considering nursing, make sure you take a lot of science classes in school. Be prepared to study very hard in nursing school. The first year or two typically are prerequisite courses but once you start studying nursing classes, it becomes very tough. Doable, but very tough (I wish someone had prepared me for that beforehand. I did well in school but I worked very hard. All worth it).
