Funnily enough, I always wanted to be a chef since childhood. if I hadn't opted for engineering, I would have worked towards making my cooking skills better. :)

Prerna’s Answer

Hi ,

I was always taking tuitions for school kids and earning quite well with that. In fact I was earning as much as my starting salary post my degree. So if college wasn't an option , I'd most likely be taking tuitions and opening a tuition centre for school kids. I always liked kids and teaching.

There's only one thing I liked more, that was performing art, so I'd also have gone to learn some more of it and maybe take it up professionally.

Hope this answers your question :)

Kevin P’s Answer

Temitope, what a fun change of pace! Comedian. I always thought that he such a fun lifestyle. Such a fun way to make a living. The reason I wanted to do this because I love the humor of stand up comics, the story telling but I also loved public speaking. It’s a true skill and art form. It’s so utterly terrifying but I loved it every time I got to do it.

I learned that most times the most effective speakers added a touch of humor sometimes even sarcasm into their speeches and presentations. Those were the ones we remember most. Sometimes all we remember is the humor.

So I always wanted to combine the two. Sadly though too many comedians simply give rehearsed speeches. Very few actually practice the art.

More recently I discovered Matt Rife. Coincidentally, he is better at the impromptu ad lipped humor than he is the scripted and rehearsed stand up comedy. His niche and specialty is crowd heckling and interactions. This means that every joke and every interaction is made up on the spot. That’s skill instead of just acting.

Currently, it’s like if I could be anyone else, it would probably be him. Great question though. That or James Bond. He had a lot going for himself too.

Hi Temitope,

I would say that you need to find something that interests you. I cannot say what that would be. When I started working, I had gone to college but did not graduate. I turned my attention working since I did not plan to graduate. My family worked in various customer service areas, so I started there. I ended up finding out that I hate customer service. I had gone to college with writing on my mind since it is a hobby that I do on its own. I didn't think that I could make it a career. My challenge was that I didn't try to look for a career where I could use something that I would do for free. So when you start looking for work, look for one that requires a skill or talent that you already have.

You should look for something that will make you happy and use your talents and skills to make your way in life. There are many careers that do not require a college degree.

Hello,
We can do much more than just going to college. Focusing on something we like is much better and sharpen our skill. Because when we do something we like, we do it wholeheartedly. If it's me, I would prefer to do something like business, because I like trading.
