Being a teacher is one of the hardest—and most rewarding—jobs. On any given day, you are parent, therapist, friend, instructor, guide, role model, specialist, nurse, and facilitator. Social-emotional skills are the most important to have on a daily basis. You need to empathize with challenging students, understand that many things are happening outside your classroom which you and your students have no control over, and be confident in yourself and your abilities in order to constantly readjust your plans. It’s a wonderful job as long as you go into it with open eyes!
