Hi,
Interesting question.
The compensation policy varies from organisations. However there could be three broad categories
- Few companies will give you raise annually (periodically) irrespective of how well they are doing
- Few companies will give you raise at par with their profits. They may not give raise at all if they are not doing good. However they announce it annually (periodically)
- Some other companies will share their profits with you as and when they receive it.
