This may sound obvious, but the major skills revolve around mechanical aptitude. And as I have said many times and I tell my students, you're likely going to be good at what you enjoy, and you're likely to enjoy what you're good at. So if you have a desire to be an automotive mechanic, you're likely to be good at mechanical things. It's not a guarantee, mind you, but all the other mechanics I've known who are worth anything have pretty much been fascinated by machines and just absorbed knowledge about them. Now, you may start out clumsy or bad at some particular technique, but you've probably got a higher potential of improving than most other folks.

Hi. I consider that the skills you'll need to be successful in this area are begin the day positive full of energy, organize and prioritize your day and your week. Learn to redirect if it's not your responsibility. Do an every day summary at the end of the day between what was suppose to be done and what was done.
