Hi Gabriela,

A Communications Major can get many different jobs, for example this website gives you a whole list of job possibilities:

This article tells you about areas such as Advertising, Newscaster, Journalism, Public Relations, or you could take it further and get into politics if that interests you. The main thing you will want to do is go through this article or look up Communication degrees and the jobs you can get to see what area interests you the most. His way you can pick out maybe your first and second choices, see what courses you would have to take and if the University or College you are attending offers that type of degree. You really still have some time as your first 30 or so credits will be your general education requirements, so maybe see what elective/s you may take to see if that is something you want to continue in your education. The nice thing about going to higher education, you can try it before you major in it.

Research the various careers you can get into with a Comm degree
Once you have found a first and second choice, check with the University or College you will be attending to see if they offer these degrees.

What a great career option! I have friends that work in public relations "PR", marketing and in recruiting that were all communications majors. One thing that was great for a few of my friends is that they were able to pursue a career in an industry that they liked as well. For example, my friend loves fashion and worked for a fashion brand in their PR. My other friend loves sports and is working with the NBA in a PR-like role. Good luck with whatever you do!
