If you're trying to choose between athletic training and physical therapy, it might be a good idea to look into job shadowing. Your HS guidance counselor may be able to help you with that. Also, athletic training is a Master's degree and physical therapy is a Doctorate, so it's important to consider the amount of school required for each.
I know people who have started out as athletic trainers and have gone back to school to become physical therapists which is another option you can explore. Many of the classes required for athletic training programs overlap with physical therapy program requirements. This is also a good option if you want to acquire patient care hours/ experience while applying to physical therapy programs. Good luck!

I would suggest that you make an appointment to speak with your school guidance counselor. They are normally in the best position to advise you what further schooling would be best for you and your situation, if you qualify for scholarships, assist in applying for Federal Aid, etc. Best of luck!

B recommends the following next steps:

Make a list of questions for your counselor.
Do a little internet research.
Speak to a professional in your field of interest if the opportunity presents itself.
Apply for Federal Aid
