Never stop learning. If you have "downtime" within your day when your deadlines have all been met, find a way to enrich yourself. Take an online course, read an article, or watch an educational video.
Volunteer. Let your peers and your supervisor know your interests and tell them you are open to shadowing or helping in any capacity. Find any task, no matter how trivial it may seem, to be a learning opportunity.

Always look for opportunities to do more. If a project comes up outside of your usual team or duties, find out how you can become involved. Make it known that you are interested in doing more. Also, if there are any employee resource groups or philanthropic endeavors at the company you work at be sure to join them, this provides you with exposure to others throughout the company and helps grow your network.
Theo’s Answer
Hey Ivis,
From personal experience, I can say the best way to grow within a company is;
- Understand what you want, and how your skills fit best with the company's needs and find a place to do so
- Understand your goals (mandates) and metrics used to track your goals, and deliver on them (exceed if possible)
- Be accommodating, and trustworthy (follow through on what you say)
- Do extra curricular's / extra projects if the opportunities present themselves
- Be empathetic, own your mistakes and learn from them, and over-communicate
To grow personally;
- Exercise humility; Always learn, on your own and from others, and set aside ego as much as possible
- Set goals; Stay on track to achieving benchmarks of success for yourself
- Develop a growth mindset; Mistakes, failures, challenges, and hardships should not be looked at as defeating or demoralizing, but as opportunities to learn and grow. If at first you don't succeed, try again
- Find your 'why'; What makes you tick, what are your strengths, what get's you truly excited... then find a career that allows you to experience some of that
- Gratitude; Be thankful for what you have, and see the bigger picture - Context is everything

Grow your network within your organization. Meet with people in different departments and learn more about their job. It helps to know as many people as possible, and you can learn a lot from other people and their expertise.
Always have a student mentality with learning. If you have free time or wrap up your normal work early, look into if you can take a course at your job or read an article that may pertain to your job or customers, etc. And always do your best – even if no one is watching.
