I think irrespective of gender, IT life suits well for all those who seek to find their career in solving some real world problems by providing creative solutions. As the IT field evolved, it is now almost every where from mechanical to medical fields and there is a role that best meets for most of the folks who want to find a career in IT.
Now coming to specifics of gender, girls are better equipped now than ever to work in IT since most of the IT companies are forward looking (in a comparative sense) in terms of gender equality, gender accessibility and proper provisioning to women when they go through gender specific events like child birth.
While occasional work pressure is given irrespective of the field you choose, IT field offers you more options to switch if a given work environment doesn't prove to be a good fit.

I do notthink that gender will have anything to do. All career choices have their pressures. I think it all depends on how you manage your work life balance. Try to always disconnect when required, and always take breaks when working on something. I think in today's society we do not look at who's doing the work, as much as we look at the quality of work that is being produced.

Every type of work has its own pressures. You are always going to be under pressure to finish projects; however, the intensity is different from a position to another and company to another. Lets say that the company server down and you were within the team responsible for it, you would be under high pressure to get it running again. On the other hand, you won't face serious pressures if you were responsible of employees machines! Regarding if it is appropriate after marriage, this is for you to determine.

I think IT has its bursts of higher pressure and tight deadlines. For example, if a client goes offline during software migration, the pressure to have the migration successful and having client's down time as minimum as possible will be very high. But, as previously mentioned, this will be true in some way or another to any profession.
At the same time, IT offers things that might be very precious to you. For example, it's likely you'd find opportunities to work from home or with flexible hours. That might help you in the after marriage scenario.
