It typically takes 8 years to become a dentist, but you can continue to do additional work after that.

I considered this career path early on and did some research on it as well! Similar to the other comment, I would recommend checking the general requirements which could include classes you would need to take, the grades you would need, and overall time required to complete. I would also recommend shadowing a local dentist to see if it is, in fact, a path that you would like to pursue. I have two physicians in my family and the ultimate personality trait that drew them to their fields was patience and hard work. Being able to finish all those years of schooling without giving up is very important.

Find out the GPA you would need to maintain.
Look into the DAT exam for dental admissions.
