Hi Kevin. A good friend of mine spent 7 years working as an electrician and then moved in to Facilities Management at a large multinational company. While he still gets to use his skills as an electrician, he's also had the opportunity to learn about management and planning. While this isn't necessarily an 'odd job field', he showed that there was the potential to broaden his horizons using his existing skills.

Depending upon the skills you can showcase in addition to the technical skills of being an electrician you could path into a management/supervisor, project manager, estimator, sales (representative or manager), purchasing agent, inspector, inspector/trainer, project engineer, superintendent, master electrician, electrical contractor/businessowner, etc. The world is yours if you are good at what you do, are good with people, a good communicator/leader/influencer and can present yourself well.
