Thomas’s Answer
Although I have never been employed by the FBI I was a federal employee in law enforcement. Holidays, weekends off and day shift is usually not seen by a rookie. Even veteran officers will work their share of the days mentioned above. Unless you get hired into a department or agency that specifies you will get those kinds of hours you will probably be working the less desirable shifts. Sometimes the shift and days off will rotate trying to make it a little fairer.

Thomas Wiggins gave a great answer. I can add that this is true for pretty much every law enforcement agency, federal, state and local. Those agencies are open 24/7/365. But don't let that deter anyone from applying. I worked a lot of odd hours in my career, missed a few holidays, but it all worked out. For example, Thanksgiving on Friday, or celebrate Christmas the day before or day after.
