Christopher’s Answer

It's more important to look at the area that you will be working. The cost of living is more important than your yearly salary. I knew many FBI employees in the Metro DC area during my time at the NSA. Contractors and govt workers could make what appears to be a high salary ($100k+) but the cost to live there is astronomical. I'm from New Hampshire so those numbers seem very high compared to the cost of living here but in DC when you are paying for a one bedroom apartment for $2500/month a salary just over six figures doesn't go a long way.

Sammy’s Answer

Yes or No since FBI offers so many different jobs. For example, an agent can work till 57 years old, which is 10 years earlier than average retirement age. So in general FBI is paid well. If you have some technical skills like Mechanical or electrical technician (requires 2 years degree), you will be paid well, too. The beauty is no age limit. If you have some special skills like computer programming languages, etc. you may get paid more, but also requires higher degree even like Ph D.
