Tanya’s Answer

In the insurance industry the hurricane season can be the busiest especially if a lot of our customers are impacted. The hurricane season starts in June but as weather patterns change the start/end dates and number of storms vary. Year round our claims adjusters provide customer service, our call centers take calls, and our agents take care of those in need but during this season there can be an increased need for prompt help. We have to be ready and able to respond quickly with information, knowledge and heart to do our best for our customers in their time of need.

I would say that Summer and Fall are the busiest for my job, personally, as an HR professional working in a software analytics company. Those who are in sales or any job that has a quarterly or monthly quota find the end of each quarter (or month) to be the busiest/most difficult. It definitely depends on the role!

My advice would be to hone down on a few key fields you would be interested in pursuing, and then search professionals in your area on LinkedIn who are in that role & reach out to them. I promise, professionals are usually so willing to answer questions from students or those who are early in their careers, because they've been in your shoes!
