How competitive is the field of nursing?

I am a college student in a career class considering pursuing a career in nursing but am worried about how competitive it is and how vigorous college courses will be in order to become a nurse. #nursing #college

Your math and science grades are critical for acceptance into a nursing program. Most schools use those grades especially to determine your acceptance into the program so be prepared to hire a tutor if you must.

Nurses are I great demand however so once you compete the program, you should have no problem landing. Be prepared to work second or third shift as the day shift is generally most preferred and filled by nurses with more seniority,

The field of nursing is very competitive. If you are a high school student, make sure you are getting really good grades and study for the SAT. Some schools are SAT optional, but not many offer that for nursing programs. Take lots of science classes and shadow a nurse to really get some perspective.

The college classes are challenging and you will most likely not have much wiggle room to explore other subjects, but if it's something you are passionate about you can do it!
