The quote I often think of is not mine but one a previous leader of an organization at work that I was in. The quote was "Have you done your personal best today?" There are days I can say yes and those are more days then days where I go..I could have done better. I normally get up at 5:30 am Monday to Friday and I am at the office anywhere from 7 to 7:30 am and I leave around 4 to 4:30 pm. My current work is reviewing suggestions from our frontline agents and managers on ways to improve the customer experience. These suggestions are ways to make what they do to bring a better customer experience. My team then engages with our partners to bring about these changes which in results creates a better experience with the customer.

Well, here's my quote, having worked an eternity in customer service. Wish I had learned it sooner. "Every day at work you will meet a nice person, and a total jerk. It's the one you choose to "take home with you" that makes all the difference in the world." (that is, don't dwell on the bad one!)

I am retired. Yippee! At my last job, I had to be there at 8. I had to leave the house by 7:30 and pray for no bad traffic (should have left 10 minutes earlier). I would get up at 5:30. Why? Because I have Rheumatoid Arthritis, making it difficult to get my body in gear. Before that, I was a morning person, and could be up and out in no time flat. I also had to take care of the dog prior to going to work- food, water, medicines, walk, etc.

The job was at the state workforce office, where I worked with unemployed people looking for jobs - taught classes, worked in the computer lab, wrote resumes, tried to build self-confidence, etc. It was fun, and rewarding, but the pay was horrible.

Hope this helps!

Kim

I usually began work at 8a and end the work day around 4:30p. I manage a team of thirteen (13) direct reports for Bill Verification. We are responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of billing though a mechanized and manual verification process. The team verifies a random sampling of predefined criteria of Bill Invoices for AT&T Wireline Service (standard telephone service) for residential customers. Some of the predefined criteria for verification consist of "monthly recurring charges", "Taxes", "Fees", "Regulatory and Marketing Messages", "Bill Format", and "Total Bill Charges". The overall goal is to ensure customers are accurately billed.

To support the team I conduct team meetings, perform quality checks, communicate monthly productivity/performance results, ensure completion of corporate compliance training, communicate EH&S (Environment, Health, and Safety) information, perform safety EH&S Reviews, and provide opportunities for ongoing growth and development training.

One of my favorite quotes is by Aristotle - "Quality is not an act, it is a habit".
