Do you see the job evolving in the next decade?

I would look at technology. As you know cars will be moving in that direction. Try LinkedIn or Glassdoor for more info regarding that market and salary.

Certainly evolution in the automotive industry. Automakers are all going towards electric and autonomous of course. Additionally, most are realizing they need to stop thinking of 'cars' and start thinking about 'mobility' (E.G. Toyota CEO said they are shifting to be a mobility company). Cars become an extension of us, much like a cellphone or tablet. Think about ordering groceries from your car display or via speech/bluetooth. Paying for gas or parking without touching your card - if the network identifies the VIN and it's attached to your info then the pay could be done remotely. Also ridesharing (i.e. uber/lyft) changes how/if/when people buy cars, so think of options like 'share plans' where you have an economy car during your workweek commuting but 'trade in' on your share plan to get the SUV for your weekend excursion. All of these things are already being thought/worked on out there.
