Hello! It depends on what you think you might want to do long term. There are different types of welding and different applications. You can get very technical and do very well in certain industries. Oil and Gas, Industrial, etc.

You can move into a leadership, foreman or management role. People will always need good welders and other skilled trade positions. Good luck!

This seems to be a field that will continue to be a very in-demand trade. Welders are an extremely valuable asset to the critical infrastructure of this country (and others!). As others have noted - you could do the union route, you could own your own business, etc.
