Dr. LaToya’s Answer
Welders tend to be predominantly realistic individuals, which means that they often enjoy working outdoors or applying themselves to a hands-on project. They also tend to be conventional, meaning that they are usually detail-oriented and organized, and like working in a structured environment.
If you are one or both of these archetypes, you may be well suited to be a welder. However, if you are social, this is probably not a good career for you.

Understand that being a welder is not for everyone. It takes a dedicated person to put the time under the hood. Depending on the field your welding takes you. Be open minded to all or various applications and techniques.
The more tools/skills you have the more employable you will be and just as important. Have a can to, get it done attitude.
What I've told my students and apprentices over the years is this.
Be a professional in everything you do.
Because someone is always watching and that someone will be the person or persons that will give you the opportunities your looking for!!!
