Consider more than just the pay. In the military you get far more benefits that most jobs - free healthcare, free training, post-military (VA) benefits, etc. You will also get a lot of valuable experience, not just in a job, but in leadership, working with others, attention to detail, etc. and potentially travel. From my own experience (albeit over 2 decades ago), being in the military was a life changing experience. Of course it was different back then - we weren't fighting a bunch of wars. But I learned a lot that I still use today, even though I'm in a very different career (was a cook, now a professor).
