Heather’s Answer

There are so many different types of scholarships you don't have to only apply for ones that take your GPA into account. Many scholarships want essays or a project of some sort. Good luck!

Emily A.’s Answer

Hi Fatima,

Absolutely!

The short answer is yes, you can always apply. This doesn't mean that you will necessarily get the scholarship, but it is always worth the try!

Look into the requirements for what ever scholarship you want to apply for. Usually, it will specify what kind of GPA you need. Sometimes, scholarships will request an essay and may take your writing abilities into account more than your GPA.

In the end, the worst that can happen is that you don't get the scholarship, but then the outcome is the same as if you never applied at all. The best case-scenario is that you get financial help!

Little risk, high reward.

Simeon’s Answer

Yes, the scholarships that are available aren't just for the top-performing students. The smaller the applicant pool, the better your chances will be that you'll get the scholarship. Here are a few tips to make sure you find those scholarships: Make sure that you have looked up all the scholarships that are connected to the universities that you are interested. Look up the service organizations in your area such as Lion's Club and Keys Club to see what local scholarships are available. Research scholarships that are awarded to specifically people with your hobbies or in your demographic.
