Hi Gerardo!
Great question! I did go to school. If you are asking yourself this question, I assume it is because you may consider not going. Not every career path requires a college degree, so I would start there: what is it that you would like to do after HS?
With that being said, most job now requires some sort of degree. If you believe that a 4 year college is not for you, remember that there are 2 year community college with great degrees. After that, there are also bridges between the two.
Good luck!

Hey Gerardo!
This is a great question. I did attend a public college. I graduated from the University of Georgia with a BA in History. With my History degree I learned how to comprehend complex topics quickly, then explain those topics in an easily digestible way. This lead me to the Customer Success field in the IT industry. I love what I do.
But a four-year school may not be for everyone. My Nephew is going to trade school to become a Diesel Mechanic and he is very happy. I would like to point out that going to any secondary school has a lot of value as you'll learn very important job skills and you'll have a competitive advantage in the job market.
I wish you the best of luck and feel free to reach out to me for any advice. :)
Take care,

Gerardo - yes I did go to and finish high school and college. I focused on marketing and management and a wise professor of mine asked me if I realized that my first job would be in sales in most cases. I said yes I realized it would be. He shared that most students don't realize this and looked down on sales. I started in sales and and learned more about the customer and the processes to help customers and leaped to other jobs that in fact now support our sales teams. What school did for me was expand my mind and my thought processes making me be open to new ideas and more than one way to resolve issues. There is not always traditional school to attend. I think vocational schools are underrated and we need people to hone their skills on the crafts of electrical, plumbing, cars, building homes etc. You first figure out what you are passionate about and then go from there.

Yes, I have my bachelor degree. I do think higher education is important but at the same time it's not worth going into massive debt for.
