What should I know or expect about becoming a gynecologist?
I'd really like to pursue a career in the medical field. I tend to find myself interested in anatomy and especially about the woman's reproductive system. #career #healthcare

Dr. Vern Verling who answered ahead of me is right about the process of choosing a physician specialty. However, I am the group practice manager for a women's health/obstetrics and gynecology (OB/GYN) practice. I am happy to socialize your question with the OB/GYN surgeons with whom I work if you would like. And, get you answers from their perspective on why they choose to become gynecologists and their current experiences in the field of OB/GYN. I can be reached on LinkedIn. Just let me know. I would be happy to help.

Most physicians choose their specialty after internship based on relationships they develop while rotating through various services. First focus on qualifying for med school. Your specialty will take care of itself.
