I'll address communication skills. My thoughts are to get some of the great essays and speeches in history, Martin Luther King or Abraham Lincoln come to mind and memorize them and say them out loud. Another idea, if you have internet access is to watch great speeches. The TED talks or even great broadcasters like Dan Rather and even comedians like Johnny Carson are great communicators.

Reading speeches of historical figures may help in articulation and learning about putting your thoughts to words, otherwise there are a number of websites that offer tips and guidelines in improving one's communication skills. They all normally focus around these areas:
1. Listening skills: Clear communication starts with active listening. If you’re just focused on how you are expressing yourself, chances are you are not listening or reacting to what others are bringing to the table.
2. Empathy: Being able to understand the feelings of those around you is an integral part of being an effective communicator. Empathizing means both understanding and relating to someone else’s feelings. Look into Emotional Intelligence regarding this.
3. Nonverbal communication skills: In addition to verbal messages, effective communication relies on nonverbal cues. Developing an awareness of your body language and tone of voice will improve your messaging and presentation skills.
4. Teamwork: The more you build strong relationships and rapport with others in the workplace, the more effectively you’ll be able to communicate with them.

As for life skills, that depends on your geographical location and what skills are considered essential 'life skills' for you to survive and thrive in that environment. For example, if you are in a country side then learning how to cook, sew, farm, etc are important life skills. If you are in the city then learning how to pay bills, take public transports, do your taxes, etc could be considered important life skills.
So in regards to life skills, it's all relative to your situation. In that regard, I would suggest evaluating what kind of an environment do you live in and what skills are important as an adult to have. Being a female in India, I would guess learning to cook, clean, taking care of the family are important to know in addition to how to navigate being outside and keeping yourself safe, being able to read body language of others and know who is a threat and who is a friendly, especially in situations where you may find yourself alone.
