Hi Paola,

It depends on your experience and location, but I personally make just under $100k per year which is around $40-$50/hr after being in the field for about 3 years now. I highly recommend you use LinkedIn and Glassdoor to check for salary information for "Cloud Engineer" or "Software Engineer". That will help you get a better idea.

Here are the links to those:

https://www.glassdoor.com/Salaries/cloud-engineer-salary-SRCH_KO0,14.htm

https://www.linkedin.com/salary/cloud-engineer-salaries-in-united-states

Hope this helps!

In addition to the great answers provided by others here, you might try searching your answer "in the cloud" :) I found this article that lists some good sources for annual salary ranges: https://enterprisersproject.com/article/2018/12/6-top-it-salary-surveys

You've probably heard others (older people :) say that you should do what makes you happy, not what brings you the most money. If you enjoy solving problems using technology, then definitely seek out and pursue more learning opportunities, including applying for internships and other introductory level jobs. Even volunteering at the library or around your school to get experience with technical tasks will help you gain confidence and to begin exploring what you don't know, and that will launch you into a world of developing solutions and adding to your foundation of understanding for the next, more challenging opportunity.
