It depends on what your definition of negative is. There are multiple areas of work as an animal trainer. You could work with domestics like cats and dogs or even horses, or the exotic route working as an animal keeper. I can only comment as to the life as an animal keeper.
Animal training is an everyday part of our job, but it only takes up a small portion of our day to day work. There is a lot of manual labor that goes into the daily care of working with animals... a lot of cleaning . Depending on the type of animals you work with there could also be a lot of heavy lifting which is hard on your body, hay bales weigh anywhere from 20-75 pounds depending on the type of hay and size of the bale.
Working in the zoo field is very rewarding if you have the passion to work with animals and provide them with the highest quality care possible. You need to be in this field for the right reasons and know that there are sacrifices that you may need to make that others might not understand. It is a difficult field to get into, you don't have normal weekends ( consider tuesday, wednesday your new "weekend"), you won't be home for the holidays because the animals always need to be cared for, and the pay is on the lower end.
So I suggest you look into what exactly you are looking for in the realm of animal training. Understand what your lifestyle may look like, if it can be supported in this field, and if you have the passion for the field.
