How can I narrow down my career choice?
My name is Kirsten. I am a junior in high school, and I am interested in picking up a #career in the field. As of right now, I am the athletic trainer for my schools football and basketball teams. I am very interested in #medicine and want to make it my future.

Another consideration is to talk to adults in the medical field. Ask them what their typical day is like, what they enjoy about their profession and what they don’t enjoy about their profession. Those you may talk to may even allow you to spend a day with them on the job so you can get a feel for the different types of medical roles.
Though you may be nervous about asking, you may find many professionals are excited about helping. You can also ask an adult you trust and feel comfortable with to ask for you.
This could be exciting and fun. I wish you the best on your journey for discovery!

It's great that you're thinking ahead about your career. It sounds like you're interested in a medical field. I'm a current PA student learning to practice medicine. Let me share this link called 6 Steps to Become a PA, by the American Academy of PAs: https://www.aapa.org/news-central/2018/08/6-steps-become-pa/
As for narrowing down your career choices, have you thought about talking to a careers counsellor? I personally have found it interesting and helpful, so that might be something to consider. Let me know if you have any specific questions for me.
Good much!

Hey Kirsten, I don't think there's a need to narrow down your career choices yet. I know it seems like you have to make a decision on everything right now, but I promise you, there's no need to worry! If you want a career in medicine, then I'd suggest choosing a major that aligns with that. Biology or chemistry is probably best. And then once you get to school, after taking some classes in those fields, that's when you'll really see if you like it and what career options are available.
I also would advise that you choose a school because you want to go there. Not because anyone else wants you to go there or because that school is really well-known for the specific field you're looking for. Go where you want to be, and everything else will fall into place.
