As others have stated nurses salaries can vary a bit. Depending on the degree and where you work, not only the state but facility. Hospitals tend to pay a little more than long term care an assisted living. Third shift nurses make more than first shift for obvious reasons. But the base salary for a nurse starting out on day’s working full time is usually around 55.000/year. You move up pretty quickly as your experience grows. I feel if you find caring for people something you are interested, nursing is the way to go, for good pay and flexibility! Good luck with whatever you chose.

Depends on the location and setting (hospital vs clinic) but $25-40 per hour is a good estimated range
