The path is long and competitive, and it starts with excellent grades in high school and college. While you are not required to major in science while in college, you will need to complete prerequisite science course work to be competitive for medical school admission. Also, you will need to study and take the MCAT for medical school consideration. After 4 years of medical school, you will complete an internal medicine residency training program for 3 years before launching out on your own. Good luck!
