Hi David,
I work in technology sales, in specific looking after a selection of cloud providers and selling with them.
As in most sales roles the days tend to change a lot (sales is a great career for those who enjoy different tasks and non-routine tasks).
For most days I will start my morning by answering emails or chasing other people to reply to enquirers I have sent them. After this i might travel to see a customer for a meeting, or have remote meetings over a web conferencing with customers and internal teams. The topics of these calls vary between anything around generating sales leads and pipeline, to progressing internal projects and sales motions to updates among my team mates.
I absolutely love what I do, no day is the same. In essence I am communicating to and working with others 70-80% of my day and then try to save the last 20% to do the admin overhead of tracking all activities and working on future presentations, pitches and projects.
I hope this helps - if you're interested to hear more please let me know!

Hi David,
I work in Human Resources for the non-profit National Public Radio. No days are ever the same for me. But essentially I start my day by responding to managers and employees on a variety of issues like pay, vacations, leaves of absence for medical issues, and more.
I'll have a couple of meetings with Newsroom managers about hiring reporters, disciplinary issues, and right now, holiday staffing and who will be covering during the holidays as the news does not stop.
I work with my peers on compensation, merit increases, and year-end performance reviews for each division in the organization. Review promotion recommendations from managers, write job descriptions to get people interested in joining our organization and initiate training classes for managers and employees.
My days are very busy, and different but I love what I do because it helps people progress in their careers and drives the organization forward on its mission. Feel free to check out our company and let me know if I can provide any additional info for you about a career in Human Resources.
