What field of dentistry is the best to go into?

Of course, there is no one answer to this question. The quick, easy answer is that the one which will make you happiest. Unless you have had the privilege of working beside dentists of all the relevant specialties, you will not really know until you experience them--in dental school.
(There have been studies of which specialties are the most lucrative on average. But the averages mean almost nothing, and there is great variation within the specialties depending upon practice characteristics. I think you may safely avoid all of them until you are much further along in your education.)

The best answer to this question depends on what you like to do. There are 10 specialties in dentistry. They all have a different niche. I would say shadow a few of the specialists, especially the ones that pique your interest. Research what they do. If you like a little bit of every specialty, general dentistry is right for you. If you don't do well with blood, ortho may be your best bet. If you like surgery, oral and maxillofacial surgery, periodontics or oral pathology may be right for you.
