I think if you are looking for a lot of options, consider a big city with suburbs, such as Chicago. There are so many options for PT jobs in my area, including acute care hospitals, schools, Early Intervention, pediatric clinics, outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, and more. If you are a new graduate, I'd recommend taking your first job at a facility where you can get a lot of general experience while being mentored by your colleagues such as hospitals like Schwab/Sinai, UIC, UChicago, or Shirley Ryan AbilityLab (used to be called RIC.) I'd recommend not going into home-visiting right out of school, for either adult or pediatric patients, as you will really need colleagues to bounce off theory and intervention ideas. Join the APTA and the state association where you plan to work, and start to network that way. LinkedIn is also helpful for networking.
