Sean W.,
I earned my Associates, Bachelor of Science, and two Masters Degrees while in the Air Force.
The Air Force (and ALL Other branches of the Military) encourage their military members (and spouses) to attain academic excellence.
You MUST be able to balance your academic schoolwork with Military duties and family.
I suggest you pick a Military career you want to continue in civilian life after your tour is completed or after you retire.
I picked Communications-Computer Systems (33Sx). My Military background and Education served me well when I was ready to enter civilian life.
Make sure you do what brings you joy and happiness.
Best of Luck!

Hello Sean,
As I'm currently in the Air Force as a 2t1X1 I can say that both of the statements made before my own are true. Im currently working towards my own degree in transportation management. The Air Force is constantly pushing you to better yourself professionally so as to not only set you up for success while in the armed forces but also when your time inside ends. They want you to be prepared for any eventuality and want to ensure you can transfer seamlessly into any life you choose for yourself.

If you have yet to earn an associate degree, the Community College of the Air Force is a great place to start. You can also earn college credits by passing CLEP tests, which allow you to bypass certain courses. Additionally, I agree with James' suggestion to make the most of Tuition Assistance. This provides you with approximately $4,000 each fiscal year, but remember, if you don't use it, you lose it.

The best way to do this is through tuition assistance. This enables you to take college classes while being active duty.

Of all the branches of the US Military, the Air Force is the most 'tech savvy'. Many experts in Information Security and Network Security have come from the Air Force, for example.
