How many years of college to become a dental hygienists?

The technical school in my city has a really good 2-year program. I'm sure there are 4-year programs out there too. You'd want to research what kind of program you're looking for, the advantages and disadvantages, and come back to where your priorities are with your education and career.

Here in North Carolina at the Community Colleges most Dental Hygiene programs takes 2 years to complete. At the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill their BSHD (Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene) program takes a total of 4 years to complete to include the requirements of general education credits. Many schools also offer the Dental Hygiene program online.
