There aren’t any secret equations that are taught in one school over another as long as the school has the proper accreditations; ultimately it boils down to the individual and how much they are willing to put in. It was recommended to me that every hour of class work you should put in about 2-3 hours of outside of classroom studies.
When deciding on a school consider the professors and their background and environment- both campus life and the facilities that can provide a hands on approach to various aspects of aerospace engineering. Wind tunnels, various lab equipment, and relevant Industry software exposure will get you ready for the professional world.
However, on a personal note Embry Riddle Aeronautical University will always be close to my heart.

US News and World Report is a good source to find the top ranked colleges that offer Aerospace Engineering degree programs. Just type/ look for "Best Undergraduate Aerospace / Aeronautical / Astronautical Engineering Programs".
However, I will caveat this to say that any college is will work, as long their Aerospace Engineering degree program in accredited by the ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology). If you earn an engineering degree that is not ABET accredited, you risk your degree not being recognized throughout the industry. If you attend a non-accredited college and want to transfer to another college, you may not be able to transfer any/all of the credits from the non-accredited college over to the new college.
In the end, it comes down to how much you are willing to learn and put into the program, not the prestige that comes with the name of the college. Just make sure to get an ABET-accredited degree!

There are many good schools in the United States and abroad. When you are researching what program is best for you take a look at what courses are required to complete the degree and make sure that the program is ABET accredited.

The University pf Washington has an excellent Department of Astronautics and Aeronautics. Seattle is the Home to the big airplane and aerospace employer, Boeing. It is also the Center for the major space venture Blue Origin. This is a great place to start your aerospace career.
