I always recommend higher education whether its construction, general industry, manufacturing or warehousing critical analytical thinking will be advantageous Business Management degree and blueprint reading will be most helpful above average organizational skills are a must Organizing as you go is far better than organizing on the fly Learn how things go together your files should almost look like your spread sheet. This way the person who comes after you can look at the spread sheet get the file and follow along like a story and it wont be boring!

Robert’s Answer
I would definitely recommend college. At least start with a two year degree. In most cases, at least getting a degree in business would be beneficial, especially if you hope to have leadership within a company or own your own. Having knowledge in handling or building a business and a better idea around finances can only add to your skills.
