It depends on who you are marketing to and where they go to get their information about the thing you are trying to sell them. So if you're targeting millennials for a consumer product, then Instagram. But if you're selling business software, probably LinkedIn. Remember countries make a difference too.

Hi Jason,
That is a great question! There are so many different types of advertisement and nowadays opportunities to promote a company/brand are endless. It is very important to understand who is your target audience, what types of products or services you are promoting, and what is the final marketing objective of your advertisement campaign. I would recommend researching and learning information about inbound marketing strategies.
While traditional advertisement focuses on pushing messages to the wide audience with low interest and engagement rate, inbound marketing creates targeted advertisements developed specifically for your distinct audience. You can think about it as a cold-calling experience vs. warm lead generation. In the end, you want your new customer to become a loyal advocate and consumer of your brand. The best way to build long-term relationships with your audience is through trust, consistent community engagement, and exciting content.
Moreover, it is definitely not effective to blindly spend money on an advertisement campaign without visible and measurable results. That's why tracking data and analyzing key performance indicators are so crucial. If you are passionate about discovering new ways how to advertise with a warm lead generation practice in mind, try to dive deeper into SEO, SEM, content creation, and social media marketing strategies.
There are no right or wrong strategies in advertising. Experimenting with different types of advertisement is the best way to identify what works best for your audience, your company, and overall marketing objectives.

It all depends on what your product is that you want to advertise/promote, your target audience, and the market. So, there is not one type of advertising that is better than another. It depends on all of the variables.

Success is different for everyone. The key is to experiment and test which forms of advertising are right for you based on your budget. It's important that for any investment you make...make sure that you are able to cleanly measure the results so you get an understanding on your ROI (return on investment) and start to build a baseline target.
