I am so glad you asked the question, but it is impossible to answer because you did not include your career field. I am sure you are working on a specific program field in Job Corp. What is it? I would love to discuss strategies as soon as I know. In general, you want to excel in your class, as teachers tend to recommend their top students. If an internship is available, try to get it. Depending on your field, create a photo book of your completed projects to show when you go to an interview. Contact people working in the field, and ask if you can shadow them for a morning or afternoon, so you can see what the job is really like. Try to learn as much from them as possible, and make a good impression while you are there so you can ask at the end of the day if they will have any openings in the near future. If not, ask them if they know anyone that will, then go see them. Try to find out from each person how they got started, and what was the most important lesson they learned during their career.
I hope that helps. I am very proud of you for going to Job Corps. You have a great opportunity for a great start in your career if you work hard and do your best. Think about how hard all the superstars work: Drake, Beyoncé and JayZ, Bruno Mars, Taylor Swift, and all the musicians and movie stars. They are always working and trying to get better at what they do. The harder you work, the more successful you will become. Good Luck!
