What are the best Marketing certification programs?
I'm in my mid 30s, looking to transition into marketing. I have no experience right now and I think enrolling in a certification program will help me get into this field. Any advice would be helpful. #marketing #certification

Hi there, yes a certification in marketing is a good entry point. It is fast and relatively inexpensive compared to 4 year degree. Plus a good place to network.
There are many marketing associations in large city and urban areas so I would check those out in your area. Good luck!

Hey Karen,
This depends on the type of marketing you want to get into.
I am currently in paid search online marketing.
1 - If you want to learn more about it, you can always review materials for the AdWords & Google Analytics certification. Since this industry is ever changing, it would help to review blogs such as WordStream, Search Engine Land & Moz. All this material is free as well & include easy video explanations.
Here are the links for how to complete these certifications:

2 - Other skills that's helpful would be Microsoft Excel & Microsoft Access since the job is more data heavy. You can always brush up these skills through Lynda.com or find YouTube tutorials for these.
Hope this helps:) Feel free to contact me for any further questions & good luck!
Best,
Patty

Karen,
While there are many marketing programs available I would also recommend you research:
Local marketing organizations and attend meetings/network to obtain feedback on marketing in your area. Some colleges also have campus marketing associations you may be able to become involved in.
Marketing books like Crossing the Chasm by Geoffrey Moore; Positioning by Al Ries; Guerilla Marketing (one of my favorites) by Jay Levinson; and Web Analytics 2.0 by Avinash Kaushik
