Dmitriy’s Answer

Pharmacy tech depending on the state requires fairly minimal education, while a pharmacist needs a doctorate degree. The two don’t really have anything in between, so being a tech is normally not a stepping stone to pharmacist. A good option to consider would be pharmacy informatics or automation support.

London Doyoung’s Answer

RN (Nurse) would be a good option for pharmacy technicians who are looking for advancement in their medical career. Nurses are compensated well compared to the years of education, and there are a lot of options for career advancements, such as Nurse Practitioner and CRNA (Nurse anethesiologists), if you want to achieve more after RN.

Plus, the medication names that you are already familiar of would give you a head start in the pharmacology training course.

You should check out the RN curriculum to see if you're interested.
